Premium psychedelic survival-horror

Strobophagia: Rave Horror is a paid adventure game from Green Tile Digital. This survival horror revolves around an occult forest rave where strange rituals take place. As you find out that the price of admission for the otherworldly party is your life, you try to survive while also trying to keep your sanity.

Take a drink, dance with other attendees, and try to stay alive. Strobophagia: Rave Horror features vividly colorful environments that capture a unique psychedelic rave feel, paired with effective horror elements and great gameplay mechanics. It feels like a visually superior Gardens of a New World.

An occult-filled party

The first thing to note about Strobophagia: Rave Horror is that it’s definitely not for people with photosensitivity issues. It is filled with neon light shows and loud, even chaotic party music. In the game, you attend the Headless Rave Festival, an event in the forest filled with life—but not for long. It greatly captures the vibe, although it can get disorienting for some players.

With the premise given as it is, the game offers a lot of quests for you to do. From finding people in the confusing mass of party-goers to getting into a fight and smashing one’s head with a beer bottle. You start out doing seemingly random tasks and by the latter part of the story, almost all information is dumped in what feels like a rushed third act.

The game offers two endings, and it’s better to try both. By successfully escaping, you find out the nothingness before you, while completing the Rite bombards you with more lore and backstory. As a horror game, though, it doesn’t have scary or surprising moments, although the entire concept, once wrapped up in the end, is sure to send chills down your spine.

Story-based horror experience

Strobophagia: Rave Horror is a unique horror game. Unlike others that fill you with jumpscares and monsters, this focuses on creating an environment that is familiar and twists it to make you imagine truly horrifying possibilities. It has good progression, although the last parts can get overwhelming because of the information instantly made available. If you have no issues with bright and flashing lights, feel free to check this out.
